Single-fraction waste bins collect in one bin one waste type defined in the property. The solution suits a place where the user does not have to choose between several waste fractions or where each waste fraction is collected in its own separate bin.

The waste type of a single-fraction waste bin is determined before choosing a model
One waste fraction is determined for the waste bin, corresponding to the property’s own collection system. The collected fraction can be, for example, mixed waste, paper, biowaste or bottles. The marking of the bin and the waste management instructions of the property use the same name, colour and identifier.
Several separately marked single-fraction waste bins can be placed side by side. The whole then works as a sorting point, but the content of each bin is determined and marked separately. Waste markings that conflict with each other are not added to one waste bin.
The waste fraction is chosen according to what waste is generated at the place of use and into which collection container of the property it is emptied. Free space alone or a ready-made sticker does not determine the waste type to be collected.
The size of a single-fraction waste bin is chosen according to the amount of use and the emptying rhythm
A suitable volume is determined on the basis of the number of users, the accumulation of waste, the space available and the agreed emptying rhythm. The range consists of the different size classes of three series:
- The volumes of the Sortaider series are 30, 50 and 90 l.
- The volumes of the Sorta series are 60 and 90 l.
- The volumes of the Sort series are 40, 80 and 120 l.
The emptying rhythm is checked during use on the basis of actual filling. A bin that is too small can fill up before the agreed emptying, but a larger bin is not automatically better if it takes up space unnecessarily or is constantly left partly empty.
When several waste bins are placed in the same building, the size of each place of use is assessed separately. The number of users and the accumulation of waste at a workstation, in a shared indoor space and in an outdoor area are not automatically the same.
The product series of a single-fraction waste bin is chosen according to the use environment
- Sortaider for offices and business premises: the 30, 50 and 90 l models suit workstations, meeting rooms, receptions and shared work spaces. The integrated bag box keeps the replacement bags together with the same waste bin.
- Sorta for public indoor spaces: the 60 and 90 l models are intended for lobbies, corridors, waiting areas and other shared indoor spaces.
- Sort for outdoor areas: the 40, 80 and 120 l models are intended for yards, next to entrances and for other outdoor areas. The location and the emptying route are always checked according to the conditions of the site.
The name of the series alone does not decide the choice. The final model is checked on the basis of the waste type, the volume, the location and the maintenance practice.
The placement and maintenance of a single-fraction waste bin are planned together
The waste bin is placed where that waste is usually generated and where the bin is easy to notice. It must not narrow the passageway, and space is left around it for use, for cleaning the surfaces and for changing the inner bin or the waste sack.
The name and the identifier of the waste type are placed so that the user sees them before leaving the waste. The same marking is used on the waste bins of the same waste fraction in the same building. The emptying rhythm is recorded according to the actual filling at the place of use, not on the basis of the nominal volume alone.
