The design of the Container W4 recycling bin for public spaces
Container W4 is a four-fraction sorting station for public indoor spaces. The model received the Red Dot Product Design 2021 award. The award applies specifically to the Container W4 model and is not transferred to other Container models, to the Sorter series or to the Sortaider product range as a whole.

Container W4 in the assessment of the Red Dot jury
According to the public assessment of the Red Dot jury, the design of the Container W4 is pleasant and intuitive, encourages the user to separate waste and is still straightforward to use. This is the jury assessment of the W4 model submitted to the competition, not a Sortaider user study or a promise about the behaviour of every user.
The jury assessment is not turned into a claim of environmental friendliness, a smaller carbon footprint, perfect usability or the superiority of the entire product series. Any user or behavioural claim requires a separate research method, sample and result.
Container W4 as a recycling bin for four waste fractions
The current Recycling Bin Container 4 × 40 l white forms a sorting point for four selectable waste fractions. The inner bin of the deposit packaging compartment can be chosen as 5, 10 or 40 litres, but the main configuration, the product name and the category card use the 4 × 40 litre structure.
The other models for 3 to 5 waste fractions are found in the Recycling bins Container for public spaces category. The award information separates the design recognition of the W4 model, but it does not make the product names or properties of the other Container models copies of the W4.
The 2021 competition information of the Container W4 model and the current product page
The Red Dot competition information from 2021 describes the historical configuration that was assessed. The capacity, colour, materials, parts, certificates and other technical data of the product currently on sale are always checked against Sortaider current product master and the W4 product page.
If there is a difference between the competition information and the current product page, the data is not combined into a single apparently up-to-date specification. The information from the award year is kept as historical source data and the current product information as current sales information. The URL of the product is not changed because of either one.
The source and scope of the Container W4 award information
