Team Hub Recycling Bin for Waste Sorting

Team Hub Recycling Bin became an important part of our workplace after several departments began using a shared team hub for daily collaboration. Team members gathered there throughout the day to discuss projects, review documents and prepare for meetings, bringing coffee cups, bottles, printed notes and delivery packaging into the space.

At first, recyclable materials were left on shared tables because conversations often continued from one topic to the next. Empty bottles stayed beside laptops, printed documents that were no longer needed remained on work surfaces and takeaway packaging accumulated during busy afternoons.

We originally expected people to recycle items when returning to their desks. After watching how the team hub was used, we realised that employees frequently moved directly from one discussion to another, leaving very little time to visit a recycling point elsewhere.

We introduced a dedicated recycling bin directly inside the team hub so paper, bottles and everyday packaging could be sorted immediately without interrupting collaboration or group discussions.

The improvement became noticeable within a few days. Shared tables remained ready for the next meeting, recyclable materials disappeared as soon as they were no longer needed and the team hub stayed organised throughout the working day.

One colleague commented that the space always felt prepared for spontaneous teamwork because unnecessary materials no longer accumulated between meetings. The furniture, layout and daily routines remained unchanged. The improvement came from placing recycling where collaboration naturally happened.

That experience showed us that a team hub is designed for continuous interaction between colleagues. When recycling is integrated into the shared workspace, keeping the area organised becomes a natural part of everyday teamwork.
