Project Room Recycling Bin became part of our workspace after dedicated project rooms were introduced for cross-functional teams. Engineers, designers, project managers and clients regularly gathered there to review plans, test ideas and organise materials. Every meeting produced printed documents, coffee cups, bottles and packaging from samples or deliveries.

At first, recyclable materials accumulated on project tables because discussions often continued for hours. Empty bottles stayed beside laptops, outdated printouts remained mixed with current documents and packaging from samples was left in the room until someone remembered to remove it later.

We originally assumed people would recycle everything when leaving the room. Instead, most meetings flowed directly into the next task, so recyclable materials often remained behind while the team moved on to another discussion.

We introduced a dedicated recycling bin directly inside the project room so paper, bottles and everyday packaging could be sorted immediately without interrupting collaboration or leaving the workspace.

Within a short time, the room stayed organised between meetings. Tables remained available for new plans, presentation areas stayed clear and recyclable materials disappeared as soon as they were no longer needed.

One project manager commented that preparing for the next workshop became easier because the room was already ready to use. The furniture, meeting schedule and working methods had not changed. The only improvement was that recycling happened where project work actually took place.

That experience showed us that project rooms are spaces where ideas constantly develop and change. When recycling is integrated into the room itself, keeping the workspace organised becomes a natural part of every project.
