Project Office Recycling Bin for Waste Sorting

Project Office Recycling Bin became part of our workspace once several project teams began sharing the same open planning room. Technical drawings, prototype packaging, coffee cups, printed schedules and material samples moved through the space every day as projects progressed from concept to production.

At first, recyclable materials collected around the central planning table because attention stayed on deadlines rather than tidying up. Empty bottles remained beside laptops, outdated printouts mixed with current documents and packaging from delivered samples stayed in corners until someone had time to clear it later.

We initially assumed the room would be tidied naturally between projects. In practice, new project phases began before previous ones were finished, so recyclable materials kept accumulating instead of being cleared at a single point in time.

We placed a dedicated recycling bin directly inside the project office so paper, packaging and bottles could be sorted without pausing ongoing work or leaving the room.

Within a short time, the difference was clear. Planning tables stayed available for current drawings, prototype samples no longer competed for space with waste, and the room was ready for the next milestone meeting without extra clearing beforehand.

Colleagues noted that starting a new project phase became easier, since the workspace was already organised rather than needing to be cleared first. The furniture, schedules and project structure had not changed – only the point where recycling took place.

That experience showed us that a project office moves through constant, overlapping stages of work. When recycling is built into that rhythm, the room continues to support new ideas instead of holding on to material from the previous stage.
